Bicyclist Fatally Struck By Car In Riverside
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Officials say a bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle in Riverside Sunday afternoon.
The crash occurred about 3:45 p.m. on Central Avenue just east of the 91 Freeway.
According to witnesses, a vehicle traveling east on Central Avenue in the far right lane, nearest the curb, struck an adult male bicyclist who was traveling in the same direction.
Members of the Riverside Fire Department and paramedics rendered aid to the bicyclist, but he was declared dead.
The driver of the vehicle was detained at the scene and questioned.
The Riverside Police Department is investigating.
