Beverly Hills Third-Grader To Deliver Classmates' Letters To The White House
BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — One third-grader from Beverly Hills will embark on an important journey this week – she will deliver letters from her classmates at Albert Einstein Academy's Odyssey Academy to the White House and President Obama.
When Noa Oranim, 9, found out she and her younger sister, Neta, would be accompanying their mother on a business trip to Washington D.C., the family contacted their congressman and asked to visit the White House.
The third-grader's impending trip inspired her classmates to come along in the form of letters to the president.
"When I grow up, I wanna be an archaeologist. Would you please give me some advice on how to secure a job later on?" one letter read.
However, Noa was the first to put pencil to paper.
"I wrote about helping wildlife," Noa said. "I also don't want people to litter."
Noa will be carrying more than 150 letters written from students from kindergarten to fifth grade, all with different messages.
"Every child wanted to say something and every child had a voice," Noa's mom, Carol, said.
A meeting with the president is not guaranteed, but that hasn't fazed Noa.
"I want to make a difference in the world," she said.
