Celebrate this year's Earth Day on the water with the Dana Point's Ocean Institute. Here, you can take place in a terrific beach cleanup that will help keep the oceans clean. Help pick up trash and make a difference! Participants get half-price admission to the Ocean Institute for the day as well. They will also be offering a Paint the Earth Day Tie Dye Workshop where you'll be invited to tie dye a reusable shopping bag using Native American techniques.

For Earth Day this year, head to Dana Point and be on lookout for whales while enjoying the sunset and learning more about marine wildlife from local experts. Enjoy a two-hour sunset whale watch aboard the Dana Pride, the largest and most stable whale-watch boat on the coast. As the oldest non profit dedicating to protecting whales, they are focused on conserving not only the conservation of whales, but dolphins and other marine habitat.

Some of the topics covered will be biology, anatomy and natural habitats. For those who are on braver side, you may want to feed the snakes, however, be aware the food served will be live mice.

This Earth Day, get your hands dirty by taking part in the Huntington City Beach Clean-Up and help maintain the community's natural beauty. The clean-up will take place on Huntington Street located north of the pier. You can simply drop in without signing up ahead of time and can stay for as long or little time as you want. Get a group together to pitch in while taking in the stunning view so many people have to travel far to see.
