Just like that, another summer season draws to a close at least on the calendar. Labor Day weekend is one last boardshort and BBQ hoorah before bringing on the refocus of fall. Cold beer, good food, and soaking in the sun in glorious Southern California is certainly on the agenda, but just where should you make all this happen? We combed through the calendars and event listings so you don't have to do much homework. Check out the quick list of places to go, do, and see for your Labor Day weekend!

Let's breakdown the math of the annual extravaganza that turns Olde Town Orange into a mobscene. Separated into 15 ethnic avenues and comprising of some 42 different vendors, just about every cuisine fathomable is covered. It's a global food court spread across one of Southern California's most idyllic neighborhoods. A part of the community since the 70's, the volunteer-driven event brings literally thousands of people to the streets to stroll and savor. With events for the kids, live music from local artists, and plenty of craft vendors, the street faire is perfect for the entire family.

For those not familiar with the name, an unparalleled catalog of work will no doubt speak for itself. Mike Miller has been snapping some of the most iconic images of West Coast hip-hop elite since well, most of his fans were even thought of. With all the chatter in the wake of the recent NWA biopic, Miller has photos of those legends during their most formative time. From Eazy to Tupac, Miller's straight-forward style is a translation of the identity specific to Southern California. His work is currently on display through early October. Spend some time in front of some snapshots of history.

What are the chances most people know that 2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War? The Huntington Beach Historical Society has been commemorating the history of the battle for 22 years. Over a two-day stretch, the general public can witness reenacted battles, explore the technology of the weapons, and even listen to Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. With the festivities capped off with a concert from the Armory Band, this is free, family friendly event that provides a proper slice of history.

About as family friendly as it gets, the folks of Hermosa Beach have been hosting the twice-annual event (Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekend) since 1972. Billed as the "largest arts & crafts fair in Southern California," the draw convincingly supports that claim. With some 300 featured artists from every medium, food vendors, a craft beer and wine garden, and rides and attractions for the kids, every base is covered. All this before you take a stroll on the sand on one of Southern California's best stretches of shoreline period.
