No Fourth of July is ever complete without fireworks. Los Angeles is filled with great places to watch Fourth of July fireworks from local parks and beaches to restaurants and entertainment stadiums. It may involve a little sweat equity, including 700 feet of stone stairs, but the view from up top on Fourth of July is incredibly spectacular. You'll get a 360-degree view of every major fireworks show happening in Los Angeles, from Redondo Beach to Hollywood. It's an outstanding workout with an even better payoff, making it an ideal Fourth of July activity for couples, families and friends. Start the hike by 8 p.m. and watch the pre-show before the main event starts at about 9 p.m.

While Palisades Charter High School hosts its annual Rock the Fourth concert and parade, Gladstones in Malibu will be hosting its annual seaside BBQ buffet along its outdoor deck. As one of LA's treasured landmarks, Gladstones offers an ideal family-friendly environment to watch the fireworks and enjoy good seafood plucked straight from the very ocean its patio overlooks.

Parking and traffic can be a challenge, but if you get there early and make a day of it, there is always fun to be had for the entire family. Starting at 9 p.m., the marina will explode with a 20-minute firework show put on by Zambelli Fireworks Internationale. Tune in to KXLU 88.9FM to watch the fireworks with synchronized music. Parking is available at 14 different self-pay lots, but they usually fill up by 6 p.m.

The annual 4th of July celebration and fireworks at Recreation Park in El Segundo is a fabulous alternative to the Seaside Lagoon festivities in Redondo Beach. Daytime events start at 11 a.m. and include fun family games and a variety of food booths with proceeds benefiting the local community. Live entertainment starts at 5 p.m. and continues until the fireworks spectacular at 9 p.m.

Featuring Josh Groban and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Hollywood Bowl promises a spectacular firework show filled with plenty of patriotic music and bursting fireworks. Children 12 and under get a 50-percent discount. Tickets can be purchased on the website.
