Best Martin Luther King Day Celebrations In OC

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an idealist in a world that was less than ideal. His ideas and his fight for civil rights are celebrated with a national holiday - and rightly so. While he is best known for his "I have a dream" speech, he made a lot of speeches and said a lot of things that were commendable. He was that rare breed who spoke his mind no matter what kind of conflict he might encounter after voicing his ideas. If you're looking to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King - or just learn more about him - here are some of the best events and resources in the Orange County area.

This year, OneOC has partnered with the Orange County United Way to provide volunteer help for a variety of issues. This is a good way not only to celebrate the life of Dr. King, but also to feel better about how you use your time. Probably the best way to describe the Huntington Beach Central Library is that it is vast. In fact, it's so large that its attached theater is part of the layout. If you're looking for information about Martin Luther King, Jr., this is a great place to look. It's pretty easy to get lost in all the material available here. This is a great resource to learn about anything related to black history.
