Best Hibachi And Teppanyaki In OC
Hibachi and teppanyaki restaurants are great places to eat if you're in the mood for something delicious and tasty. Normally, the axiom is that you don't want to sit near where the food is prepared, but at these places, sitting right by the grill where your food is prepared is part of the charm. At these restaurants, you'll get not only good food, but also a good show while your food is prepared.

Bari Bari is a cozy place that would be really easy to miss as it is located in a shopping center right next to a florist. One wall of the restaurant is adorned with notes written by happy customers. You can be one of those happy customers, particularly if you order the lobster and filet mignon combo, which is a favorite here. The tofu and veggies is also a good choice. Bari Bari is open only for dinner; hours vary on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Hibachi Steakhouse
108 S. Fairmont Blvd.
Anaheim, CA 92808

When a restaurant has been around almost 30 years, you know it's doing something right. At Hibachi Steakhouse, you may not get a show like at other hibachi restaurants, but this is the kind of place that people visit repeatedly. After your soup and salad, the chef will ask what kind of meat you'd like and how you'd like it cooked. You'll have the opportunity to taste it before it's served, so you can tell the chef whether it's done to your satisfaction or if it needs more time. The steak and seafood combinations are great. Hibachi Steakhouse is open for lunch and then closed for three hours before it re-opens for dinner.
Anjin
3033 Bristol St.
Costa Mesa, CA 92626
(714) 979-6700
If you're going to a hibachi place, the one thing you want above all else is quality meat. Anjin definitely has quality meat, like the customer favorites Kobe beef, short rib and prime rib. You get to grill your own meat here, so you can get it done just the way you like it. Experienced customers at this place will instruct you to err on the side of cooking the beef too little as opposed to too much. Anjin is not a very big place, so you may have to wait if you go during peak hours.

Orange, CA 92867

As the oldest Japanese restaurant in Orange, Shiki Japanese Restaurant offers terrific Japanese cuisine here as well as excellent customer service. Like a lot of teppanyaki places, you are seated at a grill-side table with whomever else wants to enjoy the meats, veggies and rice prepared on the grill. You can choose one item (along with rice which is included) or a combination of items, which are priced separately. The chef puts on a pretty good show with the utensils, an onion volcano and particularly the rice bowls.
