Best Halloween Events in Los Angeles

In Los Angeles, where anything can be staged, Halloween can mean pumpkins, trick or treating, haunted houses, or fireworks at a theme park! Boo at the Zoo takes place at the LA Zoo October 29 and 30 from 10am - 4pm featuring a giant pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, photo opportunities and eerie crafts. The Creepy Creature Encounter at the Winnick Family Children's Zoo will feature trick-or-treating, a chance to get up close with some creepy creatures, and Halloween entertainment.

Scarium of the Pacific, Saturday October 22 and Sunday October 23, is the aquarium's annual event with a children's Halloween costume contest, a creepy coloring contest, magic shows, underwater pumpkin carving, spooky storytelling, kooky crafts, eerie animals in the Great Hall, and much more. The event is 9am to 5pm both days and is FREE with general admission and FREE to members.

Old Town Pasadena's Halloween Celebration takes place on the day itself, Monday October 31 from 4pm - 10 pm. Take the kids trick-or-treating in Old Town Pasadena. The shops will all be open for store-to-store trick-or-treating. Expect to see costumed characters wandering the streets alongside your laughing kids, and stop in at the kid-friendly haunted house. There will also be outdoor screenings of Monsters Inc. and Corpse Bride.

Harvest Halloween Festival at Pierce College includes a large pumpkin patch, kids activities and rides, farm animals, an adventure corn maze, a hay ride and more! For the older kids there is a Factory Nightmares Haunted House and a Frightfair Screampark After Dark. Tickets for each activity are separate. See website for details. Event runs September 23 - October 31, 10am - 10pm Sunday - Thursday and 10am to Midnight Friday and Saturday.

All About Pumpkins takes place at Underwood Family Farms October 29 - 30, 9am to 6pm. Bring the kids to learn about many varieties of pumpkins including Magic Lanterns & Alladins, Howden Biggies, Gold Rush and Luminas. The list of pumpkins featured is endless - they come in every size and shape and are lots of fun to feel, hold, and experience. Get in the mood for fall as the farm is dressed up for the season with harvest decor and hundreds of carved pumpkins. From 11am -4pm each day, listen to live music and and celebrate the Harvest. Admission is $12.00, children under 2 are free. Admission includes the Tractor-Drawn Wagon Rides, the Corn Maze, Farmer Craig's Chicken show, the corn stalk labyrinth, combine slide, live entertainment, pumpkin patch (pumpkins not included), and the Animal Center.

Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland runs every evening on specific days through the end of October. Mondays and Tuesdays the event is from 6pm - 11pm and Fridays 7pm - midnight. Tickets run between $49.00 and $64.00 and include admission to the Disneyland Park up to 3 hours prior to the event's start time, access to most of the rides, Halloween Screams Fireworks, Spectacular, pirates and other characters, Buzz Lightyear's Intergalactic Space Jam and more. Come dressed up for Halloween!
