Best Fall Sports Leagues For Kids In Los Angeles

Smart parents know youth sports and outdoor activities keep those kiddos mentally stimulated, physically fit and tired at bedtime. Los Angeles accommodates that need extensively, offering facilities that encourage children to build up their social skills and learn how to work in teams with sports ranging from basketball to football, and soccer to swimming.

At Hollywood Soccer Academy, students learn how to use strategy to improve their overall soccer skills. They also gain technical skills and techniques on proper positioning, and the practices are filled with ample advice from fun and caring coaches. Winter practices are held at Griffith Park, and participants may choose Monday, Wednesday or Friday to practice. Winter camp runs from Sept. 10 to Nov. 30.

The East Valley YMCA is a fun place for both parents and children to visit since it has a swimming pool. It is also a good location for Fall/Winter sports since children ages 3 years old to 17 years old can sign up for a basketball league. The YMCA Jr. Lakers season will begin in September and last to October. Basketball players can get physically fit by practicing during the weekdays. Then families can join together and cheer on their favorite junior leaguers on Saturday game days.  Financial aid is available for families whose annual income is $50,000 or less a year.

Football fans get ready for some action when you sign up for flag football with the Boys and Girls club. Youth from all over the valley can participate in this team building game. Emerson, Miller, Jefferson, Luther, Jordan, John Muir, Edison, Bretharte, Stevenson, and Roosevelt students gain strategy skills and leadership skills by working together to score. Another positive about playing sports with the Boys and Girls Club is that equipment like flags and jerseys are included in club fee.

The North Hollywood Recreation Center is located at North Hollywood's Skating Park. Youth love this park because they have many activities to choose from. They can skateboard, go swimming, play basketball, tennis, or sign up for a fun sport like soccer. Co-ed Soccer is open to children from ages 5 years old to 11 years old. Fall winter clinic begins September 29, 2012 and lasts till November 30, 2012. Fee for soccer team includes uniform, administration fees, and trophy. Youth will practice during a weekday and games are usually held on Saturdays.

Get moving at the YMCA located in Reseda. Children gain many skills in a location that has many activities and sports to select from. Kids can sign up for swimming lessons, martial arts, and even gymnastics at this location. To increase children's physical exercise during the winter months they are welcome to join sports teams like basketball, soccer, or volleyball. Fall session takes places from October through December. Practice is held during the week and games will be on Saturdays.

Beginners benefit from the Los Angeles Little League where they learn how to pick the right bat, swing stances, base running, throwing the ball, charging grounders, and backing up the play. You can join different divisions such as T-Ball, softball, minor, junior, and major. Games for juniors are held at Garvanza Park. At Los Angeles Little League you will build new friendships, be a part of fund raisers, become involved in with the community, and develop your skills with tryouts, practices, and tournaments. Uniform is included in registration fees.
