The Triple White Sage is all the rage this fall and you can thank Craftsman Brewing Company for their unique blend that makes for a perfect fall ale. Labeled under fruit/vegetable style, this ale pours a cloudy apricot with a vanilla colored foam. The aroma is that of sage, but well balanced between sweet and herbal, and is one of the standouts this season. You can get yourself a pint at Lucky Baldwins or at Craftsman Brewing Company.

Winter Haze

Winter Haze is not something associated with LA weather by any means (unless we're talking about pollution) but that didn't stop Dale bros. Their seasonal Winter Haze (available this winter) is a barleywine-style ale that is full of flavor and the right amount of warmth for fall and winters in LA. While Upland may be a trek, the food and craft beers are definitely worth it. Other notable fall beers by Dale Bros are the Pomona Queen and Mango Shandy.

Picture City Porter
Ladyface Ale Company

What started out as one of the best fall flavors to come from Ladyface Ale Company is now offered year-round to match its high demand. The Picture City Porter is a smooth, dark ale with a milkshake-like consistency and a cascading effect. Layered coffee, chocolate and hop characters make this robust ale a must, even for people who don't usually drink beer. It's even topped with coffee bean dust. How wonderful is that?

Belligerent Bloke
Angel City Brewery
216 S. Alameda St.
Los Angeles, CA 90012
(213) 622-1261
www.angelcitybrewery.com

You can't celebrate the fall without having trying Angel City Brewery's lineup of delicious craft beers. Their Belligerent Bloke is a rich mahogany-hued, subtly spiced barleywine with big caramel and fig notes which balance against delicate spices and aromas of ginger and allspice. The malt-forward flavors of ripe fruit and molasses in the beer dominate with complexities of light cinnamon and ginger spiciness in the background, leading to a velvety finish that will have you wanting to drink several glasses of it. And, although they are almost out, make sure to stop by and try their Oktoberfest lager craft beer. Released in September to much anticipation and great reviews, the medium bodied Oktoberfest lager has caramel notes and a strong malt flavor with a sweet finish. And thanks to its popularity it's also easy to find throughout Los Angeles. Angel City Oktoberfest can be found at the Public House as well as on draft at various eateries and pubs. Check your local markets and liquor stores for six packs on the shelves.
