Best Bars For A Huntington Beach Pub Crawl

When tripping around Huntington Beach, Main Street should almost always be your final destination. Whether it's shopping or drinking, Main Street offers some of the most eclectic choices in Orange County. The weather is almost always perfect, and so are most of the prices. Leave the car keys at home, get a designated driver or a favorite cabbie and march your way down Huntington Beach's best bars.

Start your crawl on PCH at The Bungalow in Huntington Beach. Just a short walk from Main Street where you'll find other pubs to visit after kicking back a few here, this bar serves as the kick-off to a long night. As the sister bar to Santa Monica's bar of the same name, it's uniquely positioned at the south end of the Pacific City complex and is all about showing off the culture and history of Huntington Beach. Take in the ocean views, throw back carefully crafted cocktails, beers and other drinks and start the night off right!

After crawling through some fancy bars and youth-filled dance floors, head to Longboard Pub for a more relaxing stop halfway through your adventure. With 20 beers on tap and almost that many bottles of wine, Longboard offers a taste of Huntington that the other establishments on Main Street cannot. The menu is simple and comforting, with a blend of burgers, sandwiches, steaks and seafood. This place succeeds in atmosphere and is a nice change of pace from the DJ-fueled fake rave scenes of other bars and pubs.

Killarney Pub & Grill

This Oakland Raiders-loving Irish pub will give you the toughest task of the night. With its extremely strong drinks and rowdy atmosphere, surviving this stop on your pub crawl is going to take a few bucks and some moral support. If you are brave enough to try something stiff, Killarney's gigantic glasses of Guinness and its car bombs are built to drop you. The DJ will keep music from the Top 40 going all night, so step outside if you need to smoke a cigarette or catch your breath, as the always-packed atmosphere creates an intense environment.

Huntington Beach Beer Company

Maybe the last stop on your list shouldn't be up a flight of stairs, but this is the jewel of your pub crawl and well worth the effort. The sheer variety of beer at Huntington Beach Beer Company is deserving of your attention, including the homegrown stuff made by the establishment itself. Its pizzas are ridiculously delicious, as is just about anything else on the extensive menu. The employees are used to seeing some pretty sloppy folks walk through that door, so have no shame in ending your pub crawl with some of the friendliest wait staff in Orange County before calling a cab and heading home.
