Best April Fool's Jokes By Comedians

The history of April Fool's Day is not half as interesting as the practical jokes these comedians have played on their loved ones, and not-so-loved ones.  Forget about the tradition of only playing pranks until noon. With these as your inspiration, for the next 24 hours, you are licensed to play. -- Kim Kuhteubl

Chris D'Elia

Chris D'Elia's silly, physical humor is what sets him apart from other comedians. Select credits include: Nude Comedy, Live at Gotham and Speed Dating, his half-hour special for Comedy Central. His dog likes the piano.

"I don't know if this translates but my favorite thing to do is to call businesses late at night and ask them questions with words that are made up, and I try to keep them on the phone as long as I can. Like I'll call the gym and say something like, `I'm a member, I just signed up. Can I get (mumbles) myjestifications there?'

And then they would say, `Excuse me? What's a mesofestation?'

And I say, `What's a masiostation? I'm asking about myjestifications.'

The reason why it's so funny is because they really want to help you. I've called, Kinko's. I've called 24 Hour Fitness, anything open late at night. If they start to get fed up, I play on their insecurities…

`Is it okay if I come in with all my (mumbles) tallosorkin?'

`Sir, I don't know what you're saying.'

`Can I get your name?' I've kept this going for 45 minutes."

Maz Jobrani

Maz Jobrani is best known as a founding member of the Axis of Evil Comedy Tour and Comedy Central special, which featured some of the top Middle Eastern-American comics in the world.  His solo tour Brown and Friendly took him all over the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Australia.

"In high school, the TV show Cheers did something where Carla punked Woody, who is kind of dumb. She said there is this style of arm wrestling and I'm the champion at and then she challenged him to wrestle her. We pulled this on one of our close friends. You get the person who you are going to punk to take their fist and pull it toward themselves. Then, you pull their arm and fist away. Inevitably this person gets into it and they put their head down and as they do, you let go of their hand and they punch themselves in the face. The poor guy was really hurt but we couldn't stop laughing."

Iliza Shlesinger

Iliza is the most recent winner of Last Comic Standing's Season 6.  She hosts a new half-hour dating show called Excused -- a group of men compete for the affection of two women or vice versa -- rolling out in several CBS markets this fall.

"This is better for camp but we used to go into the showers and take the shower head off, and then you unscrew the cap and put chicken soup in the shower head. Then you get a hot chicken soup shower.  I always think it's funny to give people flat tires – not the car. You step on their heal and make their shoe come off, which is kind of uncomfortable or irritating.  Or you give someone a dead leg, where you whack the back of their knee and their leg gives out. I really enjoy annoying people in little ways, every day, rather than saving it up for one big day every year."

Mike Marino

Mike Marino -- affectionately known to thousands of his fans as New Jersey's Bad Boy –- has performed in every major comedy club from New York to Los Angeles and is a regular at Laugh Factory.  He'll be part of their All Star lineup April 7, 8 and 9, 2011.

"A long time ago, I'm from the Jersey shore and me and my friends all had a beach house, we're talking 25 years ago, right.  One of my Italian friends who had a really hairy body -- a lot of hair on his hands and his back -- he was taking a shower at the beach house shower outdoors.  And I put a concoction of Bisquick, baking soda and glue in a big bucket and when he was done taking the shower, I threw it all over his body.  It stuck his eyes shut.  It stuck his hair shut and it stuck his butt shut.  He couldn't do anything for hours.  The whole joke was he had a hot date, and he kept bragging about it.  And he had like 20 minutes to get there.  And he couldn't go on the date.  He couldn't go anywhere.  He was screwed for days. We're still friends but I'll never forget, he had to shave his arms.  He had to shave his chest.  He even had to shave his butt so he could go to the bathroom."

Al Madrigal

Best known for co-starring in the CBS prime-time situation comedies Gary Unmarried, with Jay Mohr, Al Madrigal also starred in Welcome To The Captain, with Jeffrey Tambor and Raquel Welch.  He is a regular sketch performer on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

"I think it was about 1996 or '97, I had this little Irish girlfriend, that I knew nobody in my entire family liked and my dad is very gullible so he was the perfect set up for me.  I'm dating her for about 2 1/2 years, so I call my dad and say, 'Hey dad, I have a quick question for you, do we have a family jeweler?' And then I say nothing -- just dangling it out there. And he -- 100% Latino man -- says, `Why?'.  `I was thinking about buying Noelle an engagement ring and I was hoping you could help me do that.'  His response was, `I got an idea, how 'bout I help you buy a shot gun and you can put it in your mouth and blow your face off'.  And he didn't stop there, he said, `I wouldn't give that little Leprechaun a sip of my soda if she was in the dessert dying of thirst.' And what could I say to that?  April Fool's."
