Want a Dodger Dog but don't want to pay stadium prices? This is the place to be during Dodgers games. Known for its friendly atmosphere, good bar food and "cute bartenders," The Park Bar & Grill is a great spot "over the hill" to watch the Dodgers play. (It's also a Packers bar during football season, which is OK since we have no NFL team.)

This L.A. favorite is not far from Dodger stadium. And I confess that more than once I've pulled over here to watch the end of the Dodgers game after – thanks to radio broadcasts – I realize that I made a premature departure from the stadium. And I'm usually greeted warmly by the fans and bartenders who've been bellied up to the bar watching the game from the first inning. You'll find drink prices (though the drinks are already inexpensive). And after the game, the jukebox is pretty solid. This is a great sort-of-divey place to wear Dodger Blue.

This Santa Monica sports bar has been ranked high in regional and national media sports bar roundups. But the important thing is what the fans say… and they like it. The Dodgers fans converge there to watch games together. The food menu is diverse and includes bar fare alongside their Filet Mignon, salads and sandwiches. And for the tag-alongs who don't want to watch the entire game, Busby's offer a wide range of free games including billiards, ping pong, video games and more.

This is the oldest location of the Barney's Beanery chain of sports bars and is hands down the local favorite. This 90-year-old bar has seen its share of celebrities – including Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin (if you're old enough to remember them). But it's not a Hollywood elite kind of place. This is where all types of L.A. folks converge for a really good time. If you like a packed, fan-filled atmosphere to watch the big game, this is the place for you. Never mind an amazing selection of beers, and a huge food menu that includes Mexican breakfast items, burgers, chili, salads and more.

Situated in Downtown Disneyland in Anaheim, this is the place to go if you want to catch the game during a family vacation. Big screen TVs and sports fans are everywhere. And the experience is complemented by a menu that goes far beyond bar food to include typical bar appetizers, salads, and a wide range of entrees - never mind the beer menu which doesn't disappoint. Angels fans unite: this is a great place to be.

Say what you want but Hooters is all about sports and chicken wings. This one is very close to Angel Stadium so the team energy permeates if the team is playing at home or away. In addition to the wings, they offer burgers, sandwiches, salads and more (I always order the wings). And they have a wide variety of beers in bottles and on tap, as well. While it does get packed during special days, you can usually find a spot at a table or the bar.

The reviews on this place are varied. It's a dive bar with a small-town feel. But it's in Angel territory and if you want to have an inexpensively-priced beer and watch the game, this is a good place to go. It's small and dimly-lit with pool tables and a dance floor, and has a variety of live entertainment.

The Catch

This is a more high-brow place where Angels fans converge, due in large part to its proximity to the stadium. It's a favorite for a nice dinner before a night game – the menu is expansive and includes sandwiches, salads, steaks, seafood and more. (The huge burgers are a favorite). The bar area is open and spacious, the servers and bartenders are friendly, and the atmosphere is festive but not terribly loud.
