Ringling Bros. Presents Out of This World
Honda Center
2695 E Katella Ave.
Anaheim, CA 92806
www.ringling.com

Challenging the traditional take on a visit to the big top, the Ringling Bros. are going futuristic with their recently debuted, Out of This World circus production. The biggest caveat to this year's show is the introduction of the circus on ice. From the ringmaster, lion tamer, and trapeze artists to clowns, literally everyone is strapped with ice skates. This adds a unique dynamic that makes the circus feel music more like an arena show than a tent show. The familiar components like the antics of the clowns, the terrifying drama of the swings in the sky, and some 7 motorcycles all speeding in a (relatively) tiny steel globe are just some of the things you can look forward to. Adding the acrobatics of veteran ice skaters doing everything from jumping through flaming hoops and riding unicycles while dunking a basketball are just some of the newer features to a-90 minute show that still packs 'em in.

Steve-O
Brea Improv
120 S Brea Blvd.
Brea, CA 92821
(714) 482-0700
www.steveo.com

Infamous for his ability to make everyone squirm and laugh simultaneously, Steve-O is one of the breakout stars from the Jackass franchise. As an entertainer extraordinaire Steve-O has actually spent the last few years pounding the stand-up comedy circuit as well. With a show that features a healthy mix of Steve's comedic insight, augmented by a least a few signature stunts that are sure to make some folks cringe, the show is guaranteed to keep you glued. Making a career out of his ability to be the life of the party, Steve's outrageousness is tempered by his confidence on the microphone. You know he is going to do something crazy, but he will certainly make you laugh without having to hurt himself either.

Sunday, August 7

Savoir Faire Antique Market
Cal State Fullerton
57 FWY and Nutwood Ave.
Fullerton, CA 92832
www.savoirfairevintagefmarket.com

Setting up shop on the first Sunday of every month, Savoir Faire is a do-it-yourself community of collectors and vendors that meet to buy, sell, and trade their treasures. While a swap meet might be an applicable term, this is not your typical chasm of junk that tends to pollute the aisles of your standard swap meet. Boasting some real antiques and rarities, part of the fun in visiting Savoir Faire is the anticipation of coming across a real find. There is no rhyme or reason to what is available from the vendors but it makes for a great hunt on a Sunday.
