Bellflower Soldier, 19, Killed In Afghanistan
BELLFLOWER (CBS) — A 19-year-old soldier from Bellflower was killed in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Tuesday.
Pfc. Arturo E. Rodriguez died Saturday in Paktika province from wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire.
Rodriguez was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Ky.
