Beck Downplays Fallout From Potential LAPD Gang Unit Exodus
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Facing the prospect of a substantial number of officers leaving LAPD gang units rather than sign financial disclosure forms, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck says there are no concerns about the department's ability to deal with the situation.
KNX 1070's Pete Demetriou reports that there are still two months to go until officers have to agree to sign the forms or they will go back to field units, and he expects the vast majority will sign the forms.

Although there may be some temporary adjustments, the police chief has pledged that gang enforcement will continue on the streets.
When asked what might happen if up to 200 or more officers decide to go back to patrol, Beck said they will handle that problem if and when it arises.
