Bear Takes Dip In Pool Of La Cañada Flintridge Home
LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE (CBSLA.com) — A bear took a little dip Wednesday in the pool of a La Cañada Flintridge home.
Ginny Pitchford-Joyner sent CBS Los Angeles the pictures of the bear which she said swam in her pool for a few minutes before walking off on Wednesday afternoon.
Pitchford-Joyner says she was first alerted to the bear after she heard helicopters circling overhead.
"I heard helicopters above the house circling for quite a while and I kept coming outside to see, to try and figure out what it was," she explained. "I went back inside the house and I was trying to search online to see what was happening and I heard a loudspeaker announcement about staying in your homes."
Soon after, Pitchford-Joyner says she saw the bear walking past her the window before getting into her pool.
"It was pretty awesome," she said. "I've never seen such a big animal that close to me, you know?"
Pitchford-Joyner says after a few minutes, the bear walked off.
"I'd love to know what happened to it," she added. "Did it make its way back in the forest? Did someone catch it? 'Cause I want to feel safe when I come out here."
