Bar Owner's Sign Saluting Veterans Might Get Reprieve
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — City officials have set up talks with the owner of an Orange County Bar after demanding he remove a rooftop sign thanking veterans for their service.
The unapproved sign on top of Johnny's Booze and Pool in Huntington Beach reads: "Thank a veteran for your freedom!"
On Monday, officials told co-owner Johnny Kresimir he had two days to take it down or face fines.
Kresimir says city officials now want to sit down and talk with him next week, so it appears the deadline is off the table for now.
