Banning Wildfire Fully Contained
BANNING (AP) — A wildfire that injured four firefighters in inland Southern California has been surrounded.
State fire officials say the 364-acre blaze in rural Riverside County was fully contained Monday night despite a day of windy conditions and triple-digit temperatures.
The fire erupted Saturday in steep terrain about five miles south of Banning. It burned a shed and several vehicles that apparently were abandoned.
Authorities said shooters at an old target range may have started the blaze.
Four firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze.
