Bailiff For 'Judge Judy' Discusses 1-Hour Primetime Special, O.K. Program
STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Petri Hawkins Byrd, the courtroom bailiff for "Judge Judy", stopped by KCAL9 Monday to speak about his work with the O.K. Program and tell viewers about the show's one-hour Primetime Special.
The O.K. Program is a program that brings together police and pastors around the country to recruit, organize and train African American men to mentor African American boys 12-18 years old.
Byrd has been on "Judge Judy" for its entire run, since 1996, making him the longest-running courtroom show bailiff in television history.
Byrd, who is a blues singer as well, will be singing at the Sacramento Music Festival on May 24, will open for musician Gerald Albright on June 21 and will perform at Legends of the Game Fundraiser May 30-June 1.
The Judge Judy's one-hour Primetime Special airs Tuesday, May 20 at 8 p.m. on CBS2.
