Avalanche Finally Topple Kings
DENVER (CBS) -- The Colorado Avalanche finally got their first home win of the season and finally beat the Los Angeles Kings, 3-2.
Despite an impressive road record of 6-1, the Avalanche were winless in their first three games in Colorado and had lost five straight to Los Angeles.
It was 2-2 heading into the third when Matt Duchene put the Avalanche up for good, scoring at 1:52 into the third period for the game winning goal.
Semyon Varlamov stopped 30 shots by the Kings, including a flurry at the end where the Kings had a six on four advantage.
Los Angeles out shot Colorado, 32-16.
