Authorities Release 911 Call In Junior Seau Suicide

OCEANSIDE (CBS) — Authorities Friday released the emotional 911 call made by NFL star Junior Seau's girlfriend, moments after she discovered his body in his Oceanside home.

Warning: This 911 call may be disturbing to some.

Seau's girlfriend, Megan Noderer, can be heard on the tape screaming "Oh my God! I need an ambulance. Oh my God!" Noderer had returned to the house around 10 a.m. and found the 43-year-old in a bedroom.

"My boyfriend just shot himself. I just got home from the gym," she said frantically.

A 911 dispatcher told Noderer to check if Seau was breathing and told her to move him and begin CPR.

"I want you to kneel down next to him and put him flat on his back . . . " a paramedic told her over the phone.

Paramedics attempted to revive Seau, but they were unsuccessful. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, according to Oceanside Police Chief Frank McCoy. A handgun was recovered from the home.

Police have ruled Seau's death a suicide. No note was found.
