Authorities Catch Inmate, Continue Search For Another After Pair Escaped Devore Jail
DEVORE (AP) — Authorities have caught one inmate and are looking for another after the pair escaped from a Southern California jail.
San Bernardino County sheriff's officials said Wednesday night that they are seeking 24-year-old Steven Patrick Gallagher, who escaped from Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center in Devore on Tuesday along with 23-year-old Jonathan Wayne Mundo.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Bachman says Mundo was located and taken into custody. He is being held without bail.
Gallagher remains at large. He is accused of robbery, conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon.
Bachman says 20-year-old Kenneth Dewayne Gillis was also arrested early Wednesday. Authorities suspect he drove the two men from the area after the escape.
