Astronomers Discover Ice On Second Asteroid
PASADENA (AP) — Astronomers have discovered water in the form of ice on a second asteroid, suggesting the life-essential ingredient is more common than believed.
The finding was reported Friday at a meeting of planetary scientists in Pasadena.
The same researchers gained attention earlier this year for discovering the first evidence of ice on an asteroid called 24 Themis.
Both ice-containing asteroids reside in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
