Aspiring Playboy Model, Private Pilot Arrested With About $2 M In Ecstasy At OC Airport

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities say they arrested a man and a woman at John Wayne Airport after a tip and found the pair were in possession of more than 50,000 ecstasy pills and about 90 pounds of the pill in powder form, called MDMA.

The woman has been identified as an aspiring Playboy model and Vancouver real estate agent named Krista Marieann Boseley, 30.

Boseley and the pilot of a private plane, identified as Gilles Joseph Pierre Lapointe, 61, were also carrying large amounts of cash, authorities said.

The two said they were coming from Las Vegas. He had at least $13,000 in cash. She had about $7,500 that she told authorities she won gambling.

According to an affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun, the two landed around 12:10 p.m. Oct. 9.

Officials at the airport said they received a tip that the two were likely traveling with large quantities of narcotics.

Authorities allege 30,000 pills were found in his luggage and many more pills found around the plane.

CBS2's Rachel Kim spoke to the Sheriff's Department about their on-going investigation.

"We believe between 50-100,000 ecstasy pills and between 35-50 kilos of powder of MDMA. The estimated street value about $2 million," said Lt. Jeff Hallock of the OC Sheriff's Department.

Hallock said the plane helped lead authorities to the suspects.

"Our narcotics investigators were alerted from the task force based on an alert they received about this [plane's] tail number having been involved in some recent activity involving the trafficking of narcotics and money," said Hallock.

A K-9 officer also helped sniff out the drugs, Hallock said.

"Where [the drugs] was headed from that point, again, we're not exactly sure about that. But obviously was planning to be distributed here in OC," Hallock said.

During a 2013 stop, Boseley was reportedly stopped by the LAPD and found with $40,000 on her person. She told authorities that money belonged to someone else.
