Marcelino Palomino is an American fashion designer who founded the Los Angeles-based fashion line MARCELINO. He began studying design at a young age under his grandmother, who was a drapery seamstress for J.C. Penney and was influenced by legendary fashion icons such as Alexander McQueen, Issey Miyake and Dong-Jun Kang. It was not until 2014 that he began designing costumes for Fanny Pak creator and Madonna choreographer Matt Cady and finally started his own line, MARCELINO. His fashion line is created for men and women and is inspired by the silhouette in motion, as well as the need for simplistic raw material which one can wear to a premiere or casually at home while reading a book. To get a closer look at Palomino's designs, see this commercial video featuring Lucia Marie, also known as award-winning female actor Lucy Jenner, modeling his designs. You can also see stars such as Robin Antin, Brian Friedman, Melissa Gisoni, Lexee Smith and Taryn Manning in his garments. MARCELINO is now available and only found in Los Angeles at the Melrose store, House of Devour, as well as online at www.MarcelinoLA.com

Express The True, Fun You
Make this year one for the books. "2016 is the year of no limits. Patterns and color, vintage and current looks do not have to blend," Palomino says. "If it feels right, chances are it looks right. Incorporate color into your wardrobe, especially bright colors. Shine baby shine! There is no glow like confidence, so embrace the pieces that polish your shine. Remember, art was meant to be intriguing, so give us something to look at."
When in Doubt, Accessorize And Layer It
Accessories can make an old look new again. Palomino notes, "We all have those comfortable go-to pieces that we love to repeat. You can make them new by dressing them up with a few exotic and glamorous accessories. People will be so interested in how your jewelry, sunglasses and throw overs are pieced together that they will forget they saw your ensemble a few days ago."
Show Your Flow
When in doubt, drape it. Palomino says, "We all see it. The age of drapery is back, and it is back with a vengeance. You can be comfortable in a classy ensemble and drape it with a cardigan. Applying this style has a way of showing how your silhouette swims through the air, especially with the spring breeze. You are sure to look statuesque when your wardrobe trail blazes behind."
Spring Fling Dream
Be prepared for the abrupt change in temperatures this spring, and find materials that will keep you comfortable. "Spring weather is moody. One minute you are cold, and the next minute you are hot. Be ready for the rise and fall of temperatures so you can carry on with your day," Palomino shares. "Try light knits this spring. They are dense enough to keep you warm but loose enough to let your body breathe. Knits are also a procrastinator's best friend because they hardly wrinkle."
The New Alpha Chic
Do not be afraid to challenge the norm. "We are all complicated people, and there is no reason why fashion should not reflect that. Even the alpha male can pull off an avant-garde look and still remain masculine and stellar. Show off a nice drape with a complex cut. It will take people longer to comprehend what you are wearing, so there will be longer eyes on you." Palomino says.
