Zombies

With the success and complete fandom over shows like The Walking Dead and most recently Fear the Walking Dead, it's a no-brainer that we'll be seeing a lot of 'walkers' roaming the streets on Halloween night. Fortunately, this is a trend that speaks to all ages, budgets, genders and every level of creativity. All you need is some craft face paint (available just about anywhere from CVS to Halloween stores to Amazon.com) and some tattered clothes (Goodwill anyone?) and you're a zombie ready to bite.

Back To The 70s

Styles and trends from the 70s have inspired the collections of several fashion brands within the past year, so it seems only fitting the fascination would apply to what we can expect to see worn this Halloween. Whether it's simply denim on denim, round frame sunglasses (a-la John Lennon) suede, fringe, some high-waisted/flared jeans or even a little tie-dye, it's likely you've already got a few of the essential items for this type of costume in your closet. If you're hunting for a few extra crucial 'time-appropriate' pieces (that you can wear holiday or not) look no further than trendy shops like Topshop, ASOS and American Apparel.

Caitlyn Jenner

2015 has been a huge year for the lovely Caitlyn Jenner as she has been one of the most talked about people in the media since her recent transformation and famed Vanity Fair cover. This year, we'll be seeing both men and women getting in touch with their feminine sides and channeling their inner sexy and confident Caitlyn. Replicating the Vanity Fair cover where she is seen wearing an off-white satin corset paired with a bold lip and a glamorous 'do will be the key to achieving Cait's most well-known look. You can get looks like this in dedicated Halloween stores (true story), or you can get more creative and head to lingerie stores like Victoria's Secret or Fredrick's of Hollywood to make the look sexy yet more your own.

Miley Cyrus

Miley, Miley, Miley. There's no denying the girl's crazy unique and downright shocking sense of style on and off the red carpet. As a result of the buzz surrounding her, ladies left and right will be attempting their best Miley inspired ensembles this year. The key to achieving the highest level Miley is more color and less fabric. For those who enjoy showing a little skin or attempting the more handmade and crafty outfits, Miley gives you full permission to go all out. Look to any one of her outrageous VMA outfits for inspiration and get to cutting and pasting. Some key ingredients for the outfit like low cut body suits, crazy patterns and funky fabrics can specifically be found at American Apparel, but locals might consider hitting up costume/lingerie store Trashy Lingerie for some funky 'already made' pieces. Don't forget the dreads, the sunglasses, and of course, the tongue.

Star Wars

With the highly anticipated release of Star Wars 'The Force Awakens' due to premiere on Dec. 18th this year, it's obvious that we will be seeing more Star Wars characters than usual this Halloween. Despite having plenty of characters to choose from (old and new) these costumes won't necessarily be the easiest to craft at home, so a pre-made complete costume is likely your best bet. Star Wars T-shirts, masks and light sabers totally count though, and major retailers like Target completely have your back.
