Arson Team Investigating Cause Of Downey Office Building Fire
DOWNEY (CBSLA.com) — Crews battled a major fire Thursday morning at a single-story Downey office building.
The two-alarm fire was reported at 2 a.m. in the 10700 block of Paramount Boulevard, near 5th Street, the Downey Fire Department said.
Firefighters arrived on the scene within five minutes and found the fire burning through the office's roof.
It took crews more than two hours to knock down the fire.
No injuries were reported.
Detectives said it appeared that some type of gas leak was fueling the fire. Arson investigators were trying to determine the cause.
Businesses in the building include both law and medical offices, a tax preparer and a real estate business.
