Arrest Made In Connection To Man Killed On ATV

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — A 38-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the murder of a man killed while riding an all-terrain vehicle.

Arturo Lopez was taken into custody after LASD deputies and personnel from the Special Enforcement Bureau served search warrants at two unspecified locations in an unincorporated area near Lancaster while investigating the murder of 47-year-old Lancaster resident Steven Finson.

Finson was discovered fatally shot in the 13300 block of East Avenue H the morning of February 24, 2014. Authorities said the man's family reported him missing around 1 a.m. after he failed to return from the desert on the vehicle.

Lopez was booked on a murder charge at the Lancaster sheriff's station, where he is being held without bail.

He is scheduled to appear in Antelope Valley Court on Friday.

During the service of the search warrants, two other adults were arrested on unrelated narcotics and child endangerment allegations, and three children were taken into protective custody, Lancaster sheriff's deputy Miguel T. Ruiz told City News Service.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
