Man To Be Arraigned In Pasadena Burglary, Attack On 79-Year-Old Woman
ALHAMBRA (CBSLA.com) — A man is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on charges of residential burglary and other crimes stemming from an alleged attack on a 79-year-old woman.
Alonzo Bernard Johnson, 49, allegedly entered the woman's South Pasadena home the morning of August 5. He is accused of threatening her with a paring knife from her kitchen and beating her face.
The victim was hospitalized, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Johnson was arrested shortly after fleeing the home with a handful of the victim's jewelry, according to police.
He has been charged with one count each of residential burglary, residential robbery and kidnapping, according to authorities.
