Around The NFL: Super Bowl Tailgate Trouble, RG3 Could Sit Season, Manning Tells Critics To Shove It

By Danny Cox

While injuries and press conferences and playoff races are a big part of the NFL right now, there is something that the league announced that won't sit well with a lot of fans. Some may think it will only affect the fans of those teams that will make it to the Super Bowl, but that is far from the situation.

NFL says there will be no tailgating at Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium

The Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium will be one for the ages, but there won't be any tailgating to be found. It was announced on Monday that fans will "be allowed to have food in your car and have drink in your car," and even outside of their car but they can occupy no more space than that of a single parking space.

Reports state that fans will be "watched very carefully" for the fewer than 13,000 parking spots available for fans at the stadium. Chartered options will be available with a price, but the tailgating is not going to happen at all by anyone.

Cardinals rookie Tyrann Mathieu gone for the season with torn ACL, LCL

Arizona Cardinals standout free safety Tyrann Mathieu had his rookie season cut short when he tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. Mathieu has plans to allow the LCL to begin healing before he has surgery to repair both of the ligaments.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians already said that it is doubtful that Mathieu will be ready by the start of training camp. Mathieu's teammate Patrick Peterson wished him a speedy recovery and said that he and the rest of the team are going to "hold it down."

Peyton Manning tells critics exactly what they can do with their thoughts

The Denver Broncos were able to defeat the Tennessee Titans this past weekend as the kickoff temperature at Mile High was 18 degrees. As the Broncos easily handled the Titans by a score of 51-28, Peyton Manning had 397 yards passing and four touchdowns. He also had some choice words for his critics that said he wasn't a cold weather quarterback.

"Whoever wrote that narrative can shove that one where the sun don't shine," Manning told Denver radio station 850 KOA following the win, which clinched a playoff berth for the Broncos (11-2). "I felt pretty good out there today."

Mike Shanahan thinking of shelving RG3 for the rest of the season

There has been some dissension in the Washington Redskins locker room the past few weeks, and it doesn't seem as if it is getting any better. With their season lost and virtually over, coach Mike Shanahan has said he is contemplating sitting quarterback Robert Griffin III for the rest of the season.

Shanahan says it is for the sake of RG3 and to preserve his long-term health, but it isn't a popular choice among many. RG3 has been sacked 24 times in the past five games, and with no chance at the playoffs, Shanahan believes that Griffin could end up benefiting from not playing any more this season.
