Around The NFL: Injuries Take Over Week 7

When injuries occur in the middle of or late in the season, teams end up scrambling to find players on the waiver wire or sitting at home as free agents. Week 7 brought about a large number of injuries and even ended up making some teams bring in third string players because their first string players were already on the sideline.
Arian Foster and Brian Cushing leave game for Houston Texans
The Houston Texans fell to 2-4 on the season after losing to the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. They may have lost a lot more though as two key players ended up leaving the game before it was over.
Starting running back Arian Foster aggravated a hamstring injury and left the field to be evaluated. He later returned to the sidelines in sweats. Defensively, linebacker Brian Cushing was hurt in the third quarter after Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles' helmet connected with Cushing's surgically repaired left knee.
Packer Jermichael Finley carted off after injuring his neck
During the fourth quarter of the Green Bay Packers victory over the Cleveland Browns, Jermichael Finley was carted off on a gurney after suffering a neck injury.
Finley took a hit to the head from Browns safety Tashaun Gipson. Finley stayed down for several minutes as the medical staff attended to him. Gipson was given a 15-yard penalty for leading with his helmet. And he can probably expect more repercussions from the NFL this week.
Rams Sam Bradford to have MRI on left knee
The St. Louis Rams are hoping that starting quarterback Sam Bradford's left knee injury isn't nearly as serious as it seems, but some sources are already just very concerned that it is "bad."
Bradford left the game in the fourth quarter after scrambling toward the sideline and stepping awkwardly with the knee and falling to the ground. He left the game and is set for an MRI and further tests this week.
Nick Foles suffers head injury in Eagles loss to Cowboys
Nick Foles has finally gotten another chance to prove his worth as the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles as Michael Vick sits out with injuries. Unfortunately, Foles suffered a head injury on the final play of the third quarter after being sandwiched between Cowboys Jarius Wynn and George Selvie.
Foles, NFC Offensive Player of the Week last week, was slow to get up, examined on the sideline, and then left the field for an evaluation. Rookie quarterback Matt Barkley came in to finish the game for the Eagles, who lost 17-3.
Reggie Wayne jerks knee going for a pass in Indy
Colts wideout Reggie Wayne injured his knee on Sunday going for a pass thrown by QB Andrew Luck. He was wide open when he made a quick move for the ball, instantly fell to the turf and grabbed his knee. He was walked to the locker room, reportedly holding back tears.
After the game, Luck said in an interview with NBC that "It was my fault," and he made a "terrible throw." Wayne will reportedly have an MRI this week. His Colts pulled off a win against Peyton Manning's Denver Broncos on Manning's first trip back to Lucas Oil Stadium since donning orange and blue.
