Around The NFL: Bud Adams Passes Away, Jermichael Finley Doing Better, Patriots Penalty Debacle

When it comes to professional sports, emotions go up and down like a wild roller coaster. In the course of just two days, there were so many emotions felt that it didn't even seem feasible that they all came about because of an organized sport. But, that is exactly what happened and three different teams brought about a whole arrangement of feelings from confusion to fright to pure sadness.
Bud Adams dies at 90
It is a sad day in the NFL as Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams has passed away at the age of 90. A true pioneer in the world of football, the team announced on Monday that Adams had "passed away peacefully from natural causes."
Adams helped found the American Football League and he battled repeatedly for players which helped lead to the merger with the NFL. He founded the Houston Oilers and eventually moved them to Tennessee in 1997 and renamed them the Titans. He wasn't able to get the new stadium he wanted in Houston so he moved the team and got them to the Super Bowl in 2000.
Bud Adams had 409 wins, the most among any current NFL owner.
Packers Jermichael Finley walking and has feeling in arms and legs
Jermichael Finley is one of the premiere tight ends in the league and he suffered a serious injury on Sunday after being hit hard in a game against the Cleveland Browns. Finley bruised his spinal cord in the neck region and was in the intensive care unit in a Green Bay hospital through most of Monday.
On Monday evening, there was good news on Twitter as Finley posted thanks to his family, friends, teammates and fans for all of the prayers and support. He was also happy to report that he was transferred out of ICU and that he had full feeling in his arms and legs.
Knowing he was able to walk a bit was also a wonderful sign. Finley will continue to be evaluated for a number of days and through a long process to make sure he will be alright, but these were great signs toward his recovery.
Bill Belichick blames himself for Patriots penalty that led to loss against Jets
Originally, Bill Belichick didn't believe the New England Patriots had committed a penalty that ultimately led to the overtime loss to the New York Jets. On Monday, Belichick blamed himself and admitted that he was wrong and it took the pressure off of defensive lineman Chris Jones.
"On the field goal play at the end, Chris is obviously trying to do the right thing by stepping up and taking responsibility," Belichick said. "But that's not his responsibility. That's ours. I just have to do a better job of coaching that. That's not his fault."
It was a rare thing for Belichick to actually admit he was wrong, but there was a lot of negativity coming down on Jones, and he didn't want his player to have to deal with that.
