Arcadia High School On Lockdown After Report Of 'Man With A Gun'
ARCADIA (CBSLA.com) — Arcadia High School Thursday was on lockdown as authorities investigated an anonymous call of a "man with a gun" on campus.
Officers responded to the school, 180 Campus Dr., after receiving the call shortly before 3 p.m.
A lockdown was initiated and students and faculty were directed off campus.
"There has been no suspects or suspicious persons seen at this point," Arcadia Police said.
The lockdown was lifted just after 5:20 p.m.
Authorities are investigating if Thursday's incident was related to four other similar anonymous calls made to schools in the San Gabriel Valley this week.
"Without question this is a tax on the resources for any police department, and we need to have this person caught and we need to have them punished for what they've done," Arcadia Police Lt. Bob Anderson said.
The FBI, LA County Sheriff's Department, West Covina Police, Monrovia Police and Arcadia Police departments are all involved in the investigation.
