Bruce, Kris Jenner Latest Celebrities To Be 'Swatted'
CALABASAS (CBSLA.com) — Reality stars Bruce and Kris Jenner of "Keeping Up with The Kardashians" have been added to the growing list of celebrities who have been "swatted."
Deputies with guns drawn swarmed their Hidden Hills home Friday after receiving a report of a shooting.
The caller, identified only as a woman, called 911 claiming someone was shot inside a house and the suspects were still inside.
"It came out as a very serious call of possibly someone shot inside the home out here in the Hidden Hills area," reported CBS2's Stu Mundel.
"The Malibu sheriff's' took this very very seriously as they do any call of that type of caliber and they came out here in force," Mundel said.
Video captured by Sky9 showed officers slowly approaching the home.
CBS2's Rachel Kim says the Jenners' and their daughters, Kendall and Kylie, were home at the time.
"Kids are really stupid. you know you can get arrested for something like this? #pointless lol," tweeted Kendall Jenner (@KendallJenner).
After a thorough search of the home, the incident appeared to be hoax; possibly the latest in a series of celebrity "swatting" incidents where someone reports a non-existent emergency that results in the deployment of a SWAT team.
On Thursday, officers swarmed Tom Cruise's home after someone called to report an armed robbery. They soon discovered the report was fake.
In December, Los Angeles police arrested a 12-year-old boy believed to be behind "swatting" incidents at the homes of Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber.
Miley Cyrus and Simon Cowell have also been victims of "swatting" calls.
