Angels trade pitcher Davis Daniel to Braves for lefty Mitch Farris

The Los Angeles Angels have traded right-handed pitcher Davis Daniel to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for left-handed pitcher Mitch Farris.

Daniel, 27, was selected by Los Angeles in the 2019 MLB Draft and made his big league debut in 2023. He's appeared in nine games over the last two seasons, featuring a 2-5 record with a 5.06 ERA, 37 strikeouts and 15 walks in 42 and two-thirds inning pitched.

He primarily worked as a starter last season, making six starts for the team. His most successful appearance thus far came in his first of the 2024 campaign, when he hurled eight shutout innings against the Detroit Tigers.

Farris, 24, was a 2023 MLB Draft pick by the Braves. He has pitched in just over 124 innings in Atlanta's minor league system. He split time between Single-A and Double-A, sporting a 4-6 record with a 3.08 ERA and 131 strikeouts in 108 innings pitched.

The move opens up a spot on the Angels' 40-man roster.

This is the fourth trade between the two teams since the end of last season, most recently happening just after the end of the World Series when the Halos acquired slugging outfielder Jorge Soler.
