Anaheim Man Charged With Allegedly Murdering Wife On Christmas Morning
ANAHEIM (CBS) — An Orange County man was charged Wednesday with murdering his wife on Christmas morning while the victim's three young children were in the home.
William Wallace, 30, allegedly inflicted fatal head injuries on 26-year-old Zazell Preston during a "violent encounter," Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn said.
Wallace is accused of attacking Preston sometime between Saturday and Sunday, Dunn said. The victim's 3- and 7-year-old daughters from a previous relationship and the couple's 7-week-old baby were in the apartment at the time, according to prosecutors.
Wallace summoned authorities to the 200 block of Laxore Street near Lincoln Avenue about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, saying Preston needed medical help, and was booked on suspicion of murder after being questioned, Dunn said.
Authorities were not releasing any details about the motive, Dunn said.
