Amtrak Train Hits, Kills Pedestrian In Anaheim
ANAHEIM (AP) — A pedestrian has been struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Anaheim.
The northbound train, heading for Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, reportedly struck the pedestrian at 8:17 a.m. near East La Palma and East streets.
Anaheim firefighters, police and Amtrak officials are on the scene and the train is stopped on the tracks near the body.
Metrolink, which shares the track, says on a Twitter posting that trains were rerouted and one-hour delays are anticipated. Orange County Line passengers in Anaheim are being provided alternate transportation south.
