Alleged Fugitive Pimp Busted In Las Vegas
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An alleged pimp who has been on the run since he evaded a prostitution sting in Van Nuys earlier this year has been arrested in Las Vegas, according to authorities.
Dontai Everidge, 27, of Lancaster was taken into custody in Nevada by a multi-office fugitive task force which included the FBI, said officials.
Earlier this year, police working a prostitution sting operation in Van Nuys tried to arrest Everidge but he got away when he grappled with an LAPD officer for his gun, according to the FBI.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office charged Everidge with two counts of assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon; one count of robbery and a count of felony resisting arrest.
Everidge is in Nevada, pending extradition.
The alleged pimp was already on probation for assault with a firearm and will not be allowed bail, FBI officials said.
Everidge will be extradited to Los Angeles by LAPD task force detectives, authorities said.
