Alec Baldwin's 'Addiction' To Cell Phone App Gets Him Removed From LAX Flight
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Actor Alec Baldwin was reportedly removed from an American Airlines flight for playing Words With Friends at Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday afternoon.
"On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait," Michael J. Wolf, the former President and COO of MTV tweeted around 1:20 p.m.
Boxer Oscar De La Hoya was aboard the same flight.
"Alec Baldwin was turning off his devices and, I don't know, he got a little angry," De La Hoya said upon exiting the plane.
At 2: 01 p.m., Baldwin tweeted: "Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving."
The actor's representative said Baldwin left his seat to ask for the flight attendant's name in order to file a complaint. The crew then asked the "30 Rock" star to leave.
Twitter user Grant Cardone added,"Alec Baldwin is getting kicked off of AA flight as I tweet this!" CBS2 reached out to Cardone about the incident. He confirmed an American Airlines representative said that the actor was removed from the airplane after an altercation with a flight attendant.
Baldwin later boarded another flight, tweeting: "Now on the 3 o'clock American flight. The flight attendants already look.....smarter."
He later added: " #theresalwaysunited </> Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950's find jobs as flight attendants."
LAX nor American Airlines have commented on the situation.
Baldwin followed up the incident by saying that he was addicted to the game "Words With Friends", a cell phone app that resembles Scrabble.
"He loves Words With Friends so much he was willing to leave a plane for it," Baldwin's representative tweeted.
