AIDS Walk LA Draws Tens Of Thousands To WeHo
WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Tens of thousands of people took part in Sunday's 29th annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles to benefit AIDS Project LA.

Several streets in the area remained closed hours after the 6.2-mile walk got underway. They included:
• San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue through 6 p.m.;
• San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Cynthia Street through 4 p.m.;
• San Vicente Boulevard between Beverly Boulevard and Melrose Avenue through 3 p.m.
Meanwhile, KNX 1070's Jon Baird reports that the event is expected to raise several millions for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and advocacy programs.
Organizers indicated that funds will benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles along with more than 20 other AIDS service organizations across the county.
Last year, the walk raised more than $3 million.

Brett Colby, director of strategic partnerships & communications for MZA Events, says that since its inception, the walk has raised more than $75 million.
