Actress Gwyneth Paltrow To Receive Walk Of Fame Star
HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow received the 2,427th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday.
"I feel so honored to be getting this star on the Walk of Fame," Paltrow said during the late-morning ceremony in front of Madame Tussauds on Hollywood Boulevard.
"This city is so much a part of my heart and soul and the idea that my grandchildren can one day come and see my name on the sidewalk is very overwhelming."
Paltrow won the best actress Oscar in 1999 for her role in "Shakespeare in Love."
Paltrow has starred in studio blockbusters "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2," and independent films including "Two Lovers." She received an Independent Spirit Award nomination as best female lead in "Two Lovers."
Paltrow's other memorable films include "Proof," for which she received a Golden Globe award nomination, "Sylvia," in which she portrayed the poet Sylvia Plath, "The Talented Mr. Ripley," "The Royal Tenenbaums," "Emma," and "Jefferson in Paris."
