Actor Taye Diggs Captures Intruder After Burglary Attempt At His Studio City Home
STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Actor Taye Diggs interrupted a burglary at his Studio City home late Sunday night after returning from the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The "Private Practice" star and his wife arrived at their home in the 3100 block of Oakdell Lane around 11:10 p.m. to find an intruder inside, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The suspect, 20-year-old Hassan Juma, fled the scene, but Diggs chased him down, tackled him and detained him until police arrived, officials said.
Neither man was hurt.
Juma is being held on $50,000 bail for suspicion of burglary, police said.
Last August, rapper and actor LL COOL J thwarted a similar incident at his Studio City home when he confronted a prowler and physically detained him until authorities arrived.
The 50-year-old suspect suffered a broken nose and jaw.
