Actor Michael Madsen Arrested For Drunken Driving
MALIBU (CBSLA.com) — Actor Michael Madsen was arrested Wednesday for allegedly drinking and driving in Malibu.
The 55-year-old was pulled over by police at 2:50 p.m. for driving erratically on Pacific Coast Highway, according to Steve Whitmore from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Whitmore said a breathalyzer test showed the actor's blood alcohol level at .21 percent, which was more than double the legal limit.
While being booked at the sheriff's station, the actor was taken to the hospital after complaining about a medical problem.
Doctors verified the issue and Madsen was held at the hospital, according to Whitmore.
The actor was cited and released after police determined he wasn't a flight risk.
"It's a misdemeanor…we know where he lives," Whitmore said.
According to entertainment website TMZ, Madsen's attorney said his client didn't fail the sobriety test and the "breathalyzer test is flawed."
Madsen has starred in the films "Reservoir Dogs," "Free Willy," "Donnie Brasco," and "Kill Bill," among other notable flicks.
Madsen is the brother of actress Virginia Madsen.
