Actor Burt Reynolds Hospitalized With The Flu
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Actor Burt Reynolds is in the intensive care unit of a Florida hospital, suffering from the flu.
The "Deliverance," "Smokey and the Bandit," "Boogie Knights" and "The Longest Yard" star was coping with the virus for several days before being hospitalized, his rep said.
Reynolds, who turns 77 next month, was moved to the ICU Friday after his symptoms worsened and doctors determined he was dehydrated.
His rep Erik Kritzer declined to say where Reynolds was hospitalized telling CNN that "he would like that (kept) private." To E! Online, Kritzer quipped the unidentified hospital was taking good care of Reynolds "and his mustache."
In addition to his well-known film work, Reynolds starred on the popular CBS comedy "Evening Shade" from 1990-1994.
Doctors say the actor will make full recovery.
