Firefighters Contain 10-Acre Fire Along 405 Freeway
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a smoky wildfire burned ten acres of brush along the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles before being knocked down.
Fire Department Spokesman Devin Gales says the blaze was fully contained in about two and a half hours Saturday.
No homes were threatened but at least one structure in the Bel Air Estates neighborhood was protected as a precautionary measure.
The blaze was reported just after 5 p.m. along the northbound side of the freeway. All lanes remained open as crews battled the flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
