Man, 81, Reported Missing Found Safe
LOS ALAMITOS (CBS) — An 81-year-old man who went missing while walking to a store was found safe Saturday night in Los Alamitos, police said.
Vlastimil Chvojka, of Rowland Heights, left his home near Goldenwest Street and Bolsa Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Friday, headed for the 99 Cent store on Springdale Street and Edinger Avenue, said Lt. Brian Seitz of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Worried family and neighbors gathered at the man's home Saturday to comfort his wife, who's in a wheelchair. They say he usually never leaves his wife for more than an hour.
The man was found unharmed at about 6:30 Saturday evening at an Auto Zone on Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard.
Huntington Beach detectives are bringing the man back to reunite with his family.
