8 Beverly Hills Businesses Hit In Rash Of Smash-And-Grab Burglaries
BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say eight businesses in Beverly Hills were burglarized early Sunday morning.
Beverly Hills police say the commercial burglaries occurred about 4:30 a.m. along Olympic and Wilshire boulevards.
CBS2's Louisa Hodge reported that two businesses on Wilshire Boulevard were targeted.
Six others -- including a pair of dry cleaners, a flower shop, nail salon, a bakery and a shoe repair store -- on Olympic Boulevard were also burglarized.
Surveillance video from Tarte Tatin Bakery in the 9100 block of West Olympic Boulevard shows the suspect kicking in the back of a door to break in.
The owner of the bakery told Hodge that the suspect made off with about $150 in cash.
In some cases, police say, the suspect used a brick.
Police believe the same man is responsible for all eight break-ins.
No further information was immediately available.
