Elderly Woman Killed In Pacoima Hit-And-Run
PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident in Pacoima that claimed the life of an elderly woman.
According to officials, the 77-year-old victim was crossing a street at Van Nuys and El Dorado when she was hit by a Toyota pickup approximately 7:50 p.m. Saturday.
The driver fled but was later arrested at his Canoga Park home, police said. He was identified by authorities as Eduardo Jesus Garcia.
Authorities say the unidentified victim was declared dead after being transported to a nearby hospital.
Garcia is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. Police do not believe alcohol played a role in the accident.
