5 Teams As Cold As The Weather In February

We're in the midst of one of the coldest months on record throughout the country. For solace, we normally turn to our sports teams in order to cope, but some haven't offered much in the way of comfort. With that in mind, let's take a look at five teams that have had cold streaks to start the month that have matched the weather outside.
5) Buffalo Sabres- The Sabres' plan for this season is well-documented at this point. They want to have the top pick in this year's draft in order to get a top talent like Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel. So, it's no surprise that they make it on this list. They're 3-6 in the month (or if you want to include the loser points or OT loss category as it's otherwise known, they're 3-4-2). The reason they're at five? That's the best of the records from these five teams.
4) Arizona Coyotes - The Coyotes have had a particularly frigid stretch of late losing six in a row. (Their weather remains nice, though.) Overall for the month, they are 3-8 (3-7-1 with the OTL). Not great but still "hotter" than the following three NBA teams.
3) Philadelphia 76ers - This starts the run of three NBA teams to top this list and, like the Sabres, it's not a surprise to see this team here. The Sixers own a 2-6 record this month which could (and probably will) get worse based on what they did to the roster at the trade deadline.
2) Los Angeles Lakers - The Lakers make the list like the Coyotes because their record has been so bad that it's considered cold even though L.A. has been warm. The purple and gold are 1-7 this month but they stay out of the top spot because they've won in the last three weeks. They did lose, however, to the team that has been the coldest this month.
1) New York Knicks - That honor belongs to the franchise currently making a mockery of the sport in Madison Square Garden. Since beating the Lakers to start the month, New York has lost every game since and are 1-7 this month and losing by an average of 13 points per game.
As we hope for warmer weather, maybe wins will come for these teams as well. Or in the case of these teams, maybe the fans would rather have the warmth and continue to see these teams lose.
